Try Emaj7 instead of G#m. I think thats the chord that they’re using. The way you hold a G#m on the uke is how you hold an Emaj7 on the guitar but this alternate position might sound a little better.
Ooooo…that sounds good too! thanks for that!
These days, I’ve been working out most of my chords in the back yard while enjoying a cigar… I don’t know if it’s a legit concern, but I’m afraid to use a good uke around the cigar smoke so I use one of my cheap plastic ones… And I have to admit, not always the best sound so I play the chords and then I have to imagine what it would sound like on a proper sounding uke… Usually not too far off tho.
I chorded this song after reading how Kaipo couldn’t make $50,000 bail for his domestic violence arrest. Not to make light of the situation, because it’s some serious kine allegations…just on a totally side note from that, his situation made me think that It must be way harder than I thought to make good money in the industry.
When playing with your suggestion of 4446 (EM7) instead of 4342 (G#m), I think I like 6657 (F#m7) to go with it instead of 6654 (F#m)….
I have to say tho, I’m still okay with the original G#m to F#m.
Switching it up in the middle of the song is nice too. 🙂
